皇家今年攻陷美聯明星賽先發陣容，16日公布的最新名單中，共有8席先發位置由皇家球員領先，讓外界質疑有灌票情況。對此，皇家總教練約斯特(Ned Yost)表示：「不喜歡的話，就多去投票。」

上週皇家在明星賽票選佔據7席先發，引來老虎王牌普萊斯(David Price)的不滿，認為投票機制有欠公平；而今天大聯盟官網公布的最新結果，皇家二壘手伊方特(Omar Infante)擠下太空人「阿土伯」奧圖維(Jose Altuve)，使得美聯先發僅剩天使楚奧特(Mike Trout)不是皇家球員，再度引發質疑聲浪。

約斯特日前就針對外界抨擊回嗆：「這沒甚麼不對，你不喜歡就去投票，大家都有投票權利。」今天對於新的票選結果，他再度強調：「這對不是皇家的球迷，或許很難接受，但每個人都有投票的權利，你可以投你喜歡的球員。我不認為應該抱怨投票制度。」

皇家一壘手漢斯莫(Eric Hosmer)也顯得相當無奈，「難道要叫大家別投我們嗎？大家都以為是我們的球迷在灌票，但我有五百多萬票，不可能都是堪薩斯的球迷吧！」

但也有許多球員持相反意見，普萊斯就表示：「明星賽不僅是人氣投票，還關係到世界大賽的主場優勢，對於入選球員應該要有更高標準。」佔據明星賽票選第3名的皇家外野手戈登(Alex Gordon)也認為，應該讓表現最佳的球員入選，不會有人想看單一隊伍對決另一支明星隊。

ESPN專欄作家奧尼(Buster Olney)稍早還在推特上酸了一下：「皇家的球迷人真好，還讓楚奧特參加『他們的』明星賽。」

大聯盟明星賽史上最多單一球隊選手入選是1939年的洋基隊，當時共有6名球員佔據先發；1957年雖有7名紅人球員入選，但時任大聯盟主席弗里克(Ford Frick)出手干涉，讓梅斯(Willie Mays)以及漢克阿倫(Hank Aaron)取代入2名紅人先發。
